Concrete wolf installation wins art contest for Tallinn security academy
Sculptor Art Allmägi won the outdoor art competition for the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences' new building in Tallinn. His work 'Presence' consists of six slightly larger-than-life concrete wolf sculptures based on clay models.
КультураA striking installation of six concrete wolves has claimed first place in the outdoor art competition for the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences' new accommodation and teaching building in Tallinn.
The winning work, titled "Presence" ("Kohalolu"), was created by sculptor Art Allmägi. Each of the six wolf figures was developed from clay modelling and cast in concrete at slightly larger than life size, creating an imposing presence in the outdoor area in front of the building.
The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences trains personnel for police, rescue, border guard and other security services, making the wolf — a symbol of alertness and collective strength — a fitting choice for the institution's new premises.
