The Estonian Natural History Museum faces a significant challenge this autumn that demands both precision and courage: the museum must relocate vast collections of exhibits from the old town, including animals preserved in 150,000 liters of alcohol. The destination is a new natural history building with the fresh scent of wood on the Noblessner promenade in Tallinn.

The Noblessner area has become one of Tallinn's most culturally vibrant quarters in recent years. With the addition of the Natural History Museum, the district will develop into a museum complex described as a unique museum quarter in Europe.

The relocation process is complex, above all because of the delicate nature of the exhibits. The animal specimens preserved in alcohol are scientifically valuable, and their transport requires special conditions to ensure the preservation and safety of the collections.

The new natural history building in Noblessner offers the museum more modern facilities both for preserving exhibits and for public displays. After the move, the Estonian Natural History Museum will have a more spacious and contemporary home that will allow it to present natural heritage in new and exciting ways.
