Kostyuk defeats Svitolina at French Open and reaches Grand Slam semi-final for the first time

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk (WTA 15) made history at the French Open, reaching a Grand Slam semi-final for the first time in her career. In the quarter-final in Paris, she defeated compatriot Elina Svitolina (WTA 7) in an all-Ukrainian clash with a score of 6:3, 2:6, 6:2.

Kostyuk displayed strong play in the first set, winning it 6:3, but Svitolina bounced back in the second set and won it decisively 6:2. The decisive third set went Kostyuk's way again – the Ukrainian managed to secure the match 6:2 and reach the historic semi-final.
