Marko Mikhelson, Chair of the Riigikogu Foreign Affairs Committee, held a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Congress, during which he outlined Estonia's position on settling the war in Ukraine.

According to Mikhelson, the path to peace lies through consistently increasing support for Ukraine and intensifying pressure on Russia — without this, it will not be possible to end the armed conflict. The Estonian parliamentarian emphasized that a weakening of Western solidarity at this moment would be counterproductive.

The meeting in Washington is part of regular contacts between Estonian officials and American lawmakers. Tallinn is consistently working to ensure that allies maintain unity on issues of military and financial aid to Kyiv, as well as on sanctions policy towards Moscow.
