ПолитикаIn Russia, Yekaterina Mizulina, head of the Internet Safety League, has filed an official complaint with the Interior Ministry against prominent media personality and journalist Ksenia Sobchak. Mizulina accuses Sobchak of distributing LGBT propaganda.
The complaint was prompted by an interview with beauty influencer Igor Sinyak, which was published on Sobchak's YouTube channel "Ostorozhno, Sobchak" on June 1. According to Mizulina, the interview content violated Russian laws that prohibit so-called LGBT propaganda.
Russia adopted legislation banning LGBT propaganda in 2013 and significantly expanded it in 2022, imposing restrictions on all age groups. Violations of the law carry fines for both individuals and organizations. The law has been widely criticized by international human rights organizations.
