An English-language collection presenting research results from the Salme ship burials on Saaremaa has reached readers. The work contains thirteen articles examining this unique archaeological site from different perspectives and demonstrating that the Salme complex continues to offer scientists abundant research opportunities.

The Salme ship burials were discovered in two phases – the first discovery was made in 2008 and the second in 2010. This is one of Estonia's most significant archaeological sites, which has attracted attention in the broader international scientific community. The ships discovered and the burial goods found with them provide valuable information about the Viking Age in the Baltic Sea region.

The new collection emphasizes that the Salme site is particularly suited for interdisciplinary research, combining methods from archaeology, history, the natural sciences, and other disciplines. The publication is in English, making the research results accessible to an international readership as well.
