Russia's Moscow military prosecution office and Garnizon, a company subordinate to the defence ministry, have filed a lawsuit with Moscow's arbitration court against Germany's largest defence industry conglomerate Rheinmetall, demanding 47.2 million euros from the company.

The lawsuit is based on the termination of a construction and equipment contract for an army combat training centre located in Mulino, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, attributed to fault on the part of the German company. This was reported by RBK citing sources.

Rheinmetall is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of weapons and defence equipment. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the conglomerate has significantly increased its production volumes and actively participates in arming Ukraine. Now Russia is bringing a multi-million euro claim against the conglomerate through the Russian court system, which Western experts consider legally ineffectual outside Russia.
