Sander Raieste's club Murcia Real loses playoff opener to Barcelona

In the first quarter-final match of the Spanish basketball league, Barcelona defeated Murcia Real 91:68 on home court. Estonian basketball player Sander Raieste's club fell clearly short.

Estonian basketball player Sander Raieste's home club Murcia Real suffered a heavy defeat in the first round of the Spanish top league quarter-finals, losing away to Barcelona 68:91.

The match got away from Barcelona in the second quarter, when the visitors built a 16:30 lead, which gave them a comfortable advantage at half-time. In the third quarter, Murcia managed to narrow the gap slightly (22:20), but in the final quarter Barcelona came out stronger again, winning that period 25:16.

The quarter-final series continues, and Murcia Real must find quick solutions for its continued playoff participation to stand up to Barcelona. Estonian national team member Sander Raieste and his teammates are now under pressure.
