Simple tip: why put a lemon by an open window in summer?
During the summer months, many people keep windows open for fresh air, but this allows unwanted guests like spiders to enter. One simple home remedy can help keep spiders away from windows.
КультураIn summer, it's tempting to keep windows open to let fresh air into your home – but this is precisely when your rooms become open to various insects and small animals. One of the most common uninvited visitors is the spider, which crawls unnoticed through open windows into your home.
A simple and inexpensive solution to this problem is lemon. Lemon peel contains limonene – a natural compound that spiders simply cannot tolerate. It's enough to cut a lemon in half or slice it and place it on the windowsill edge.
You can also rub strips of lemon peel against the window frames and sills to help the repellent smell spread more effectively. To maintain the effect, you should replace the lemon every couple of days, as it loses its stronger aroma as it dries.
The method is completely natural and works well in homes with children or pets, where using chemical repellents is not desirable. In addition to lemons, other citrus fruits and lavender or peppermint oil also work for repelling spiders.
