Tallinn's international literary festival HeadRead returns this week, running from May 27 to 31 with a packed programme of author encounters, literary discussions, and musical performances.

The festival's main hub is the Writers' House, where visitors can expect intimate conversations with authors and a range of cultural events. This year's programme also extends to several other notable Tallinn venues, including Aita, St Nicholas' Church (Niguliste kirik), the Children's Literature Centre, and the Ukrainian Cultural Centre.

Organisers have also brought the festival into the urban fabric of the city itself, with events taking place across public spaces in Tallinn. The combination of indoor literary gatherings and city-wide programming reflects HeadRead's ambition to make literature accessible to as wide an audience as possible.
