ЭстонияThe Estonian Employment Register is taking on up to 50 teenagers aged 13 to 17 for temporary work this summer. The initiative is aimed at giving teenagers the opportunity to gain their first exposure to working life.
In addition to its own example, the Employment Register is calling on other Estonian employers to actively offer young people their first work experience. According to the agency, early engagement of young people in the labour market is an important step in shaping their future careers.
Youth summer work programmes help teenagers develop work habits, learn the principles of teamwork and understand the daily requirements of working life. Such experiences are particularly valuable for those who have not previously been in a formal employment relationship.
