Tartu District Court found three teenagers guilty of murder committed in Jõgeva, in which a disabled man was beaten to death last year. Two girls were convicted of murder and one boy of complicity in murder.
ПолитикаTartu District Court delivered its verdict in one of Estonia's most brutal youth crime cases in recent years: three teenagers were found guilty of murder committed in Jõgeva, during which a disabled man was beaten to death.
The incident occurred last year at the end of April and shocked Estonian society. According to the court's decision, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old girl were convicted of murder. A 16-year-old boy was also convicted of complicity in murder.
This is an exceptional case, as such serious charges are rarely brought against minors. Tartu District Court delivered its verdict slightly more than a year after the crime was committed.
