Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynykova has no intention of staying silent or holding back at the French Open when it comes to Russian tennis players. She has sharply criticised Russian competitors who have remained silent on their country's war against Ukraine, emphasising that it is her duty to speak out.

According to Oliynykova, it is impossible to act as if nothing has happened when people are being killed. She believes that Russian tennis players who compete in international tournaments should use their platform to condemn the war, but have instead chosen silence.

The French Open has been one of the arenas where the Ukraine-Russia conflict has extended into the sporting arena. Ukrainian athletes have repeatedly expressed frustration that their Russian counterparts are able to participate calmly in international competitions without having to take a position on their country's actions.
